In September 2021, from the 9th to the 13th, an international exhibition on interior furnishings was held in Paris. According to the organisers, it was visited by more than 55,000 people who love good design and enjoy a comfortable home and beautiful furnishings. We are very pleased that we could be a part of it, to contribute to an event of such scale and magnitude. Especially since this was the first Parisian design exhibition at this venue in 18 months. Covid meant it was impossible to organise the two previous editions, and the one which took place could not be fully confirmed until shortly before the event.
Gie El is of course about modern lighting, featuring sculptural forms and unique design. In Paris, we presented the PORTAL, VILINE and HIVE designer lamps in the colours of delicate ecru and contrasting raw rust.
We presented our products in a poetic and extremely picturesque way. The authors of the design concept, Maria and Jacek Rypuła, took great care in the purity of the exhibition and its emotional reception.
“We wanted to create a space that was not only eye-catching and would stand out from other presentations, because it was also important that we provoke discussion and conversation about the purpose of design and the products fashioned in it. This is the idea behind Gie El, the brand we are creating. We want a lamp to be more than just an object that shines. We want it to evoke emotions, inspire awe and fill interiors with its beauty,” says the designer and founder of the brand, Jacek Rypuła.
The presented collections attracted mainly architects, interior designers and decorators, who appreciated the uniqueness and the possibility of visually integrating them into their own projects and architectural visions. Our brand is recognised for its willingness to work with designers, allowing modifications that do not disrupt the character of the product while also ensuring it fits into a particular space. The collections presented in Paris perfectly suit such spaces as hotel lobbies and restaurants, where unique design and sculptural décor are expected.
The second group of designers included those who saw Gie El’s products as an opportunity to furnish houses and other residential interiors in an unconventional way. The Gie El designer lamps have been developed to also fit into home spaces. VILINE is an ideal over-table lamp, while PORTAL is a perfect complement to living rooms and staircase spaces.
Such exhibitions are a great place to exchange views, talk to customers and brands that are also committed to quality design. We are glad to be able to participate in such events and thereby raise the quality of our own products and design awareness. As a result, we can be sure that Gie El is keeping up with the times, while developing and offering products that we can be proud of.
