Mountain crystal, a precious stone entirely crafted by nature, possesses numerous unique qualities. It is remarkably versatile and picturesque, seamlessly intertwining with light, absorbing and delicately emanating it as a subtle glow. It forms a beautiful, natural symbiosis with light.
Designer Maria Rypuła recognized the potential of this raw gemstone and decided to create a product that enriches interiors with its presence. "When I first laid eyes on the raw form of this crystal, I was captivated by its natural shape – unprocessed, irregular, wild, each one different. But it was when I shone the light from my smartphone flashlight onto it that I was truly amazed. It was like a culinary fusion of two high-quality ingredients. Each one excellent on its own, but together, they create a surprisingly unique flavor. The combination of light and crystal was similar. The way light penetrates the mountain crystal is mesmerizing. I knew we were in for an incredible challenge to create a modern chandelier."
GENIUS 8 is an impressive and contemporary chandelier, comprising over one hundred and sixty diverse mountain crystals. This abundance of crystals becomes the focal point in any interior, where each stone is suspended on a thin wire wrapped in delicate thread. The chandelier's composition was carefully planned to allow the crystals to float freely in space, forming an elliptical structure and giving the room a classical, majestic appearance. GENIUS 8 merges traditional design with a modern approach. This chandelier is akin to a sculpture of light, where light emanates from within each crystal. Each stone possesses an organic look, varying in shape, size, and transparency. Some are as smooth as ice, while others are matte and enigmatic. Their diverse structures affect how light is emitted. The crystals in this composition shine like stars in the night sky – some brighter, others softer, giving the chandelier the character of a sculpture. When designing this product, the designer aimed not only for functionality but also to evoke emotions in the observer. "In designing the product, I care not only about its functionality but also about the emotions it stirs in the viewer. This product should not only be practical but also intriguing, serving as a true sculpture in space," says the designer.
