Delicate and fleeting – GHOST is a chandelier that happened only once. Part of ONE AND ONLY, a limited series of objects, it emerged spontaneously from uniquely hand-crafted shades, with no intention of replication. Like a shadow, like a captured moment that will never return.

The GHOST chandelier is a composition of shades reminiscent of fairytale spirits or gentle clouds drifting across a summer sky – light, organic, and similar in shape, yet each subtly different. Made by hand from milky, pastel-toned glass, the shades glow from within, without revealing the light source. Suspended on fine cables and lit by warm bulbs, the shades appear to float in mid-air.

The GHOST composition is full of variety: it features larger and smaller elements, some rounder, some more elongated, arranged at different heights. The surface of the glass is smooth but not flat – marked by darker strands of lines that resemble cracked earth, dried-up riverbeds, or animal trails viewed from above. This effect is the result of masterful craftsmanship – the manual mixing of pigment, which disperses irregularly within the glass structure, forming abstract and unrepeatable patterns.

GHOST is the result of the creative collaboration between Maria and Jacek Rypuła, designers and founders of Gie El. The glass shades are suspended on steel cables, and the lightbulbs within them are fitted on cords sheathed in a steel braid. Due to the chandelier’s bespoke nature, attributes such as height, ceiling mounting method and canopy colour can be tailored to individual requirements. For this reason, the lead time is three weeks.

GHOST will feel at home in japandi, minimalist or contemporary interiors. It is a chandelier for those attuned to beauty, who seek lighting with a subtle and ephemeral presence. GHOST is lightness incarnate – a transformation of glass into cloud – and the only one of its kind in the world.
