The BIRD pendant lamp is the most recognizable model of the Gie El brand. The entire collection of BIRDS lamps and chandeliers took its name from this lamp. The design of the collection is enclosed in the geometry of broken planes and the dynamic form of triangles. Rust-colored sheet metal is one of the favorite materials used by the Gie El brand. As architect and co-founder of Gie El, Jacek Rypuła says, “Rust is the new gold.” We obtain the rust finish on thin steel in collaboration with nature, allowing it to leave its mark on the product. Each time it’s slightly different, subtly changed, dependent on the external atmospheric conditions. It can be confidently said that the lamp is painted by the hand of nature. The material, after obtaining the rust finish, is protected by a colorless, matte coating, making it suitable for use in interiors, not getting dirty, and not crumbling.

The modern form of the lamp revealing the light bulb allows for the use of decorative variations. For this model, we recommend using an “Edison” type bulb with a visible filament, which will further emphasize the character of the lamp and the play of light.

The RUST BIRD I lamp, like all other Gie El products, is designed and entirely manufactured in Poland. Each individual lamp is laser-cut from a sheet of thin metal, undergoes bending, is painted, and then manually assembled with the appropriate electrical components. Each RUST BIRD I lamp is laser-marked with the Gie El brand logo, confirming the authenticity of the product and emphasizing attention to detail.
