In the hands of Gie El’s designers, this shade comes alive, becoming an energy that not only illuminates but defines a space. SAFIR 7 is the grandest piece in the collection – a luminous sculpture conceived for tall interiors and mezzanines. Nearly three metres high, it features seventeen cobalt shades in two sizes and twenty-six irregular shards of fractured glass suspended freely between them. The result is a vertical structure of exceptional lightness and dynamism – visually powerful yet perfectly balanced. The hand-formed, organic shades contrast with the irregular glass pieces that complete the composition. Inside the shades, special sleeves direct light downward so it retains a warm, ambient tone instead of the cool cobalt hue, softly illuminating the lower rims. Smaller glass elements, each containing a braided fibre optic, glimmer with subtle points of light. After dark, SAFIR 7 glows with an atmospheric rhythm of energy and reflection. Braided cobalt cords and a matching canopy complete the monochromatic total look. Designed for lofty spaces where light can fully resonate – mezzanines, halls or open living areas – SAFIR 7 draws the eye and radiates energy without overwhelming.
