The scent of the breeze fills the air. Waves gently rise and gradually fade into the turquoise hues of the water. Bright clouds leisurely drift across the sky. The sounds of seagulls naturally blend with the rustling of grass dancing in the wind. The UNDER collection was conceived with water in mind, exploring what lies beneath its surface. Designers envisioned an underwater world rich in shapes and rounded forms. From these visions emerged chandeliers with a calm, transparent color palette, featuring glass shades where air bubbles and light create rich reflections, bringing tranquility to interiors. The UNDER_B chandelier delicately and subtly fits into its surroundings, emphasizing what’s most beautiful: light and the gentleness of form. The shades were designed to illuminate the space with soft light after dusk and cast picturesque reflections of natural light on the walls during the day. Glass shades are the hallmark of the Gie El brand. Their handcrafted production and artisanal character are an integral part of the brand’s identity. Foundry furnaces heated to temperatures of a thousand degrees are used in their production. “What we paid attention to and what was challenging in creating the UNDER collection was how the light emerges from within the shade,” say Maria and Jacek Rypuła, designers and founders of the Gie El brand. “Our experience working with light translates into seeking new forms and their compositions with light. We focus on how light behaves within the interior, the interaction it establishes. UNDER is a subtle composition that, beyond its sculptural character, fully unleashes its potential when the chandelier lights up” add the creators.
