Part of the CLOUDS lighting collection, to which the COCOON BIG AQUAREL table lamp belongs, is a series of organic lamps and chandeliers reminiscent of clouds in the summer sky. The soft and subtle forms of the glass shades turn the lamps into sculptures. The play of light and shadow on the surface of the shades in the CLOUDS collection is a truly artistic technique.

COCOON BIG AQUAREL is the taller sister of the COCOON AQUAREL table lamp. These lamps are created to captivate with their delicate yet very expressive form. The phenomenal appearance is not the only asset of the COCOON BIG AQUAREL lamp; it is also characterized by natural materials and handmade production. The glass shade comes in an exceptionally interesting, enchantingly picturesque color. The color in the lower part of the shade is intense, full-bodied, and milky, while in the upper part, it is slightly transparent, as if rubbed. Each time, it is slightly different, just like a floral meadow, which is characterized by natural diversity. This is due to the manual production, which maintains the specified stylistic and color composition but allows for improvisation with details and small elements.

The composition of the lamp is the result of combining two forms: organic and geometric. “Sometimes, combining different shapes, volumes, or forms results in an unexpected effect. It surprises in a wonderfully positive way. We used the unusual and soft form of the glass shade in one composition and the completely rectangular prism of the cuboid,” says Maria Rypuła, the founder of Gie El.

Each COCOON table lamp is produced on demand in Poland. The manufacturing process involves working with liquid glass and blowing it. Then, the wooden base is manually oiled. Natural oil impregnates and highlights the wood’s grain, exposing its true character. The whole lamp is complemented by a black textile-covered cord with a manual switch.
