The MESH chandelier collection is the fruit of inspiration drawn from steel mesh. Designers recognized its creative potential: ‘Designing is a process that has its beginning and end. These two points suspended in space-time are difficult to define. The initial encounter with the mesh planted a slowly maturing design idea in our minds, which over time gained distinctiveness and matured into action,’ recounts Jacek Rypuła. The Gold MIST 120 cm chandelier is a modern and artistic product that evokes emotions. Suspended in space by thin cords, the chandelier floats like a sun-kissed cloud. Crafted from a steel mesh composed of a blend of metals—copper, zinc, and phosphorus—the chandelier’s characteristic mesh structure allows soft light to diffuse across its surface, casting reflected light into the room. MIST chandeliers, like other Gie El products, are handcrafted on a small scale in Poland. This ensures each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. What ties them all together is the craftsmanship and emotions invested by their creators. The steel mesh collection is the brainchild of design duo Maria and Jacek Rypuła. “We reached for woven mesh, captivated by its charm and plasticity. It’s a material with incredible potential that gives designers the opportunity for creative work. We were fascinated by how we could shape this material and work on its form. The theatrical lighting of the mesh is the distinctive element of the MIST lamp. The play of light in this product is incredible. Light emerges from within, gently spreading across the mesh surface, subtly illuminating the room.”
