GENIUS 3 was born out of the need for beauty, utilizing natural, unprocessed mountain crystals. The mountain crystal used in the product is a gemstone believed by ancient Greeks to be a gift from the gods. It’s an authentic product, far from imitation or mediocrity, processed minimally to highlight the material’s essence. It seamlessly melds with light, absorbing and gently emanating it as a very subtle glow.
Designer Maria Rypuła recognized the potential in this raw gemstone and decided to create a product that enriches interiors with its participation. ‘When I first laid eyes on the raw chunk of this stone, I was drawn to its natural form. Unprocessed, irregular, wild. Each one different. I thought it was an intriguing product. But when I shined the light from my smartphone’s flashlight on it, I was astounded. It was like the perfect blend of two ingredients. Both excellent on their own, but only creating an exceptionally surprising flavor when combined. The same occurred with the merging of light and crystal. The way light permeates through the mountain crystal is mesmerizing. I knew we were up for an incredible challenge in creating a modern chandelier.’
GENIUS 3 is a contemporary chandelier crafted from over thirty unprocessed mountain crystals of various sizes. The symmetrical composition with asymmetrically arranged stones turns this chandelier into a sculpture, influencing the emotions of its audience and enriching the interior it occupies. Each stone used in the chandelier boasts an organic quality, evident in its shape, size, and translucency. Their internal structure affects the way light is emitted.
The chandelier features two distinct light sources. The first is an ambient light emanating from within the crystals, influencing emotions and creating an atmosphere within the space. The second light source comprises small LED bulbs located in the ceiling, emitting exceptional brightness. Both light sources can be used simultaneously or independently. An option for dimmable LED bulbs in the ceiling allows for convenient control of light intensity within the interior.
